Nicholson, Dinah

Dinah Nicholson started working for Aviagen (then Ross Breeders) in 1985, after completing her degree. Between degrees, she held two research assistant posts. The first, at Reading was investigating ahemeral lighting for caged layers. The second, at Nottingham, was a meta-analysis of published experiments exploring growth responses of broiler chickens to graded levels of amino acids.

She has recently finished her PhD in May of 2022 and began working with Cobb-Vantress as a Hatchery/Breeder Specialist and now she is the senior internal technical advisor for US hatcheries.

Dr. Ron Meijerhof

After receiving a Bsc degree from the agricultural college in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands, Ron has worked for 13 years as researcher at the Centre for Applied Poultry Research in the Netherlands, mainly in the area’s of broiler breeders and incubation. The subject of his PhD thesis, completed in 1994 at the university of Wageningen, the Netherlands, was the theoretical and practical implications of heat and moisture balances in hatching eggs before and during incubation.
From 1998 until 2007, he worked as technical specialist for first Hubbard/ISA and later Hybro bv, being responsible for development and implementation of management techniques in the whole chain of broiler production.

Eduardo Romanini

Following his academic pursuits, Eduardo became a member of the Petersime team responsible for establishing their initial single-stage hatchery in Brazil. He dedicated three years to offering incubation assistance to Petersime clients in Latin America. Subsequently, Eduardo participated in a 5-year scientific investigation on embryo-response technologies as part of a collaborative programme between Petersime and the University of Leuven in Belgium, during which he earned his PhD. Since 2018, Eduardo has held the position of incubation specialist at the Research and Development department. In this role, he is responsible for conducting incubation research and overseeing commercial trials.

Dr. Nick French

Nick completed his first degree in Zoology and Psychology at the University of Bristol, UK and then when to the University of Bath, UK to complete his PhD on incubation in wild birds.  At the completion of his PhD, Nick joined British United Turkeys (later to become Aviagen Turkeys) initially as a Research Specialist on reproduction.  Nick would continue to work at British United Turkeys for the next 26 years, for the last 5 years as Technical Director.

Peter Amendola

He began his career co-managing a company with responsibilities that spanned from the complete production side to the supply chain to the customer. He later joined a large integrator as their hatchery manager before traveling internationally to develop his knowledge in hatchery standards and best practices. Peter then expanded his career into the processing plant where he implemented management strategies and training programs. Peter joined Embrex, Inc. in 1999 to support the installation of Inovoject systems and has since developed into other global roles providing invaluable service and support to our customers in a practical way to help them achieve their hatchery goals. Peter is currently the Hatchery Support Manager for the International division of GBD.

Dr. Ana Blanco Garcia

She developed her doctoral studies in Germany while working as a researcher in the genetics department at Lohmann Tierzucht (Cuxhaven), especially in the field of in ovo gender identification. Subsequently, she worked as a project assistant in the international relations department of QS Qualität und Sicherheit (Bonn, Germany) mainly supportingSpanish partners in the certification of their companies. Since 2019 she works for respeggt GmbH (Cologne, Germany) as Head of Supply Chain Manager providing the gender identification in hatching eggs by using the SELEGGT process and verifying the supply chains”free of chick culling” of the respeggt-partners from the hatcheries until the consumers.

Dr. Carmen Uphoff

In 2017, she completed her master’s degree in Agricultural and Food Economics at the University of Bonn. Worked as a “Quality Manager for Innovation and Strategy in the Agricultural Sector” at REWE Group. Today she is Chief Operation Officer at respeggt GmbH.

Tarsicio Villalobos

En el año 2008 con la adquisición de Embrex Inc por parte de Pfizer Salud Animal pasó a ocupar el puesto de Gerente de Servicios Técnicos para Latinoamérica antes de asumir su actual posición de Director de Servicios Técnicos en el departamento de Global BioDevices y Automatización de Zoetis LLC.

Dr Rodakis started in private practice. Thereafter, she moved into the poultry industry in 2012 and is currently the technical manager for Pigs and Poultry for Zoetis, South Africa.

Aline Ferreira

She  started working for Aviagen as Technical Service Manager in Brazil in 2013 being in charge of hatchery Technical Support for Customer in Brazil. That job brought her a lot of experience in costumer services and a lot of new knowledge in Incubation area. She joined Hatchery Support Group in November, 2016 as an Incubation specialist and since then She has taken on responsibility for the incubation trials in the USA, as well as customer and internal support in the Americas. She started her professional life in Brazil in  2005 as a Trainee in Perdigão Agroindustrial (currently known as Brazil Foods-BRF) based in Videira, Santa Catarina State. In 2006, She had the opportunity to enter in Hatchery Area, when started working in Aurora Alimentos, based in Chapecó, Santa Catarina State, as Breeder and Hatchery Division Supervisor. In 2010, she received a Job offer from Merck Animal Health, where worked as Poultry Technical Services Supervisor till 2013.
